Tata Power Q3FY25 Results: Net Profit Rises 8% to Rs 1,030.7 Crore

Tata Power reported an 8.2 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit (attributable to the owners of the company) in the October–December 2024 period, on the back of improved performance. With the rise, Tata Powers net profit in the quarter stood at Rs 1,030.7 crore, up from Rs 953 crore a year ago. Revenue in the same period rose five per cent to Rs 15,391.1 crore. The company reported an 81 per cent jump in PBDIT to Rs 3,667.6 crore from a year ago. Sequentially, the companys net profit rose 11 per cent, while revenue dipped two per cent. The company beat street estimates for profit but missed those for revenue. In a Bloomberg poll, 12 analysts estimated an adjusted net income of Rs 971 crore and revenue of Rs 16,692 crore. Praveer Sinha, chief executive officer and managing director, Tata Power, said, We have delivered a sustained PAT growth trajectory over the last 21 quarters, and all our businesses have been contributing to this growth. Tata Power had earlier detailed a Rs 60,000 crore capital expenditure (capex) plan for the next few years. Of that, Sinha noted, Rs 12,000 crore was spent in FY24, another Rs 22,000 crore will be the closing capex for FY25, and the company intends to spend an additional Rs 22,000 crore in FY26. On hydropower plans, Sinha noted that the company is planning another hydropower project in Bhutan but declined to share further details. In November, Tata Power said it had entered into a strategic partnership with Druk Green Power Corporation Ltd (DGPC), a subsidiary of Druk Holding and Investments Limited, the sole generation utility of Bhutan, to collaborate and develop at least 5,000 megawatts (MW) of clean energy generation capacity in Bhutan.04 Feb, 2025 07:23 PM

Tata Power Q3 Net Profit Rises on Lower Tax Outgo

Tata Power reported a 8.2 per cent rise in net profit in the third quarter of FY25 helped by lower tax outgo compared to last year, while revenue from operations rose 5.1 per cent, with growth being witnessed in the transmission and distribution segment. The company reported consolidated net profit of ₹1,030.7 crore on revenue of ₹15,391 crore. The segmental breakup showed that revenue from generation and renewables showed a fall in the quarter. We have emerged as a clean energy leader with presence across the full value chain of manufacturing, EPC, and development of renewable projects along with retail supply through group captives, said Praveer Sinha, CEO and Managing Director. As an integrated power company, we offer complete energy services towards our portfolio of generation, transmission and distribution solutions to provide affordable power for all. He added that the company would set up small modular nuclear reactors in line with the government seeking active partnerships with private players and the amendment to the Nuclear Power Act to set up nuclear energy capacity. In the renewables segment, where the company has developed a sizeable portfolio, its installed capacity was at 6.7 GW with a pipeline of 10 GW. Its solar manufacturing facility in Tirunelveli with a 4 GW cell line is fully operational, the company said, and an additional 300 MW of Topcon line will be commissioned in the current quarter. The manufacturing unit reported revenues of more than ₹1,300 crore, EBITDA of ₹226 crore, and net profit of ₹112 crore in Q3FY25. At the end of the quarter it had close to 2.5 GW of rooftop installations with a pan-India target of 30 lakh installations. The rooftop business saw a revenue growth of 15 per cent to ₹509 crore in Q3FY25. Transmission and distribution business reported a 7 per cent PAT growth to ₹370 crore in Q3FY25 buoyed by the robust performance of Odisha, Delhi and Mumbai distribution businesses. Tata Power Reports 10% Rise in Q3 Net Profit to Rs 1,188 Crore

Tata Power on Tuesday posted a 10 per cent on-year rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 1,188 crore in the quarter ended December 31, 2024 on higher revenues. It had reported a Rs 1,076 crore consolidated net profit in the quarter ended December 31, 2023, the company said in a statement. The companys total income also rose to Rs 15,793 crore in the quarter under review, from Rs 15,294 crore in the same period a year ago. We have delivered a sustained PAT growth trajectory over the last 21 quarters and all our businesses have been contributing to this growth, said Praveer Sinha, CEO and Managing Director, Tata Power. He also stated that as the government is looking for active partnerships with private players and the amendment to the Nuclear Power Act to set up nuclear energy capacity. We will take up the opportunities to set up small modular nuclear reactors, he said. As of December, the companys operational capacity was 6.7 GW in the clean & green segment, generating more than 11,700 MUs of green power.
