Priya Dyes and Chemicals, established in 1986, is a leading exporter of dyes, dyeintermediates, pharmaceuticals and fine chemicals. In 1999, the company was renamed Priya Ltd. and was honouredas an Export House by the Government of India. The company has a base of over 75 clients in more than 25 countries and its export portfolio is comprised of nearly 130 products. Its major clients are located in West Europe, US, Latin America, East Asia and SouthEast Asian countries. Taking advantage of the growth in computer networking industry, the company recently began to distribute Edimax Technology of Taiwan. The issue of capital in May 1994 saw a success when it organized a money pool of Rs 5 crores. The funds were used for purpose of renting office premises, acquiring warehouse on lease, setting up a testing lab and increasing long-term working capital. Despite Chinese competition, Priya Dyes has managed to keep its export business of dyestuffs and bulk pharmaceuticals stable. A branch office in Pune was opened in 2001.
