Intuit Inc. is a technology company that provides financial management and compliance tools and services to individuals, small companies, and the self-employed in the United States, Canada, and abroad. Scott D. Cook and Thomas A. Proulx formed the firm in March 1983, and it is based in Mountain View, California. The company is divided into three segments: Small Business - QuickBooks financial and company management online services and desktop software, payroll solutions, merchant payment processing solutions, and small business finance solutions for small companies and self-employed people. Consumer - It caters to individuals and includes TurboTax income tax preparation products and services that allow them to prepare and file their own federal and state personal income tax returns. Strategic Partner - Professional accountants, are served with tools like Lacerte, ProSeries, ProFile, and ProConnect Tax Online. On December 5, 2000, Intuit was included in the S&P 500 index. On the NASDAQ, Intuit stock is traded under the ticker code INTU. Intuit has purchased 55 firms, nine of which were bought during the last five years. Credit Karma, which was purchased for $7.1 billion in 2020, was the company's largest acquisition. T sheets were purchased for $340 million by the corporation in 2017. The corporation purchased a check for $360 million in 2014 to provide bill pay services across small businesses and personal banking products. More than 50 million customers worldwide rely on Intuit's innovative ecosystem of financial management solutions. The firm was recently named one of the top 50 finest cloud services for small companies and one of the world's top 20 most trustworthy brands. The company was ranked seventh on Business Insider's list of Best Companies for Working Women. Intuit prides itself on providing the greatest financial products and services while also being a decent global citizen. As a result, the firm has been named to America's Most Responsible Corporations list. Intuit was also named the number one firm on Fortune's Future 50 Sustainability All-Stars list.
