Upstart is a leading artificial intelligence (AI) lending platform that works with banks to increase access to affordable loans. Founded by ex-Google employees in 2012, Upstart is headquartered in San Mateo, California and Columbus, Ohio. More than two-thirds of Upstart's members are women. Upstart-powered banks may have higher approval rates and lower loss rates while delivering exceptional service. Loans are granted in a matter of seconds and are completely computerised. Upstart was one of the first companies to use artificial intelligence in the multibillion-dollar loan market. Upstart goes beyond the FICO score, employing non-traditional criteria at scale to improve loan performance and access to credit for individuals. To identify a potential borrower's creditworthiness, the lending company created an income and default prediction model. This means that, in addition to traditional underwriting criteria such as FICO scores, credit reports, and incomes, Upstart underwriting takes education variables into account. These include colleges attended, areas of study, GPAs, and standardised test scores. Upstart also considers a borrower’s work history to create a statistical model of their financial capacity and personal propensity to repay. While Upstart is now focused on the consumer sector in the United States, similar strategies can be used in any credit market. Currently Upstart Holdings, Inc. has a market cap of $3.83 Billion. It has a P.E ratio of -18.99. The shares of Upstart Holdings, Inc. are trading at $79.52. .
