This movie is directed by Martin Scorsese and comes under the drama-comedy genre, it is a must-watch and the most popular stock market movie.
 

The Big Short

This 2015 film, has a star-studded cast including Christian Bale, Steve Carrell, and Ryan Gosling, and directed by Adam McKay. This movie delves into the US housing mortgage crisis. The movie sheds light on a few astute financial experts who not only accurately predicted the 2008 housing bubble burst but also managed to profit from it, during the widespread financial losses.

Wall Street

A 1987 film starring Michael Douglas and directed by Oliver Stone, is a favored pick among stock market movies. Douglas portrays Gordon Gekko, a greedy Wall Street expert who tempts a novice stockbroker into the shady world of insider trading, only to ultimately be outsmarted. The young stockbroker, Bud Fox, played by Charlie Sheen, hatches a plan to ensnare Gekko.

Inside Job

This is a 2010 documentary made by director Charles Ferguson, on the 2008 worldwide financial meltdown. With narration by Matt Damon, the film provides an in-depth exploration of the elements contributing to the crisis and discusses the major individuals implicated. It includes numerous interviews with financial market participants, politicians, and journalists who work closely with financial markets 

Margin Call

A financial thriller from 2011 directed by J.C. Chandor, stars notable actors such as Kevin Spacey and Demi Moore. The film unfolds over a span of 24 hours and revolves around a significant Wall Street bank during the initial phase of the 2007-2008 financial crisis. It explores the measures undertaken by investment bank employees in an urgent effort to reduce damage to the stock market.

Boiler Room

A film from 2000 directed by Ben Younger, narrates the tale of a college dropout who becomes entangled in a call center that sells speculative or questionable investments. Featuring Giovanni Ribisi and Nia Long in principal roles, and supported by Vin Diesel and Ben Affleck, the movie focuses on the main character Seth Davis, portrayed by Ribisi. "Boiler Room" investigates his ethical dilemmas related to wealth accumulation and also provides a glimpse into the immoral tactics brokerage firms might use to deceive investors.

A 2018 thriller-drama, unfolds around the life of a stock trader named Rizwan, who gets lured into insider trading by a corrupt broker Shakun Kothari - played by Saif Ali Khan.
