Read More“Founded in 1968 by Gordon Moore and Robert Noyce, Intel Corporation is the world's largest semiconductor chip manufacturer by revenue. The company is headquartered in Santa Clara, California. According to the Fortune 500 list of United States corporations by revenue from 2007 to 2016, it ranked no. 45 in the year 2020. Intel's first product was the development of memory chips, called DRAM. This was followed by the introduction of another successful chip, EPROM. However, it became best known as a supplier of microprocessors for PCs. Intel launched its first commercial microprocessor in 1971 and opened its first international manufacturing facility in Malaysia. Following that, it expanded operations to Singapore, China, and India, among others. It started with a 2.5 million dollar funding and is currently valued at 228.98 billion dollars with more than 1 lakh employees. It has different divisions, such as New Technology Group, Data Center Group, Client Computing Group, and Internet of Things Group. Acquisitions have played a significant role in the company's value. It acquired Altera for 16.75 billion dollars in 2015, a manufacturer of configurable smart chips. McAfee was another major acquisition designed to make online computing safer and more secure. In 2000, it acquired Giga to upgrade its internet systems. Among the company's strategies is manufacturing most of its products internally. This is one of Intel's competitive advantages in optimising products and improving the economics of its business. Due to the global shortage of semiconductors, Italy is currently in talks with Intel to invest billions and build a chip manufacturing plant there. Additionally, the company plans to work with IBM on new research collaborations. The company also intends to provide semiconductor manufacturing services across North America and Europe through its world-class foundry services. These business decisions have contributed to achieving the “Award of Excellence “ in 2019. Intel has reported 5% yearly increase in its revenue to $19.2 billion from $18.3 billion in the last quarter. The net income rose upto 60% on year to $6.8 billion form $4.3 in the same quarter last year. Currently Intel Corporation has a market cap of $86.08 Billion. It has a P.E ratio of 88.28. The shares of Intel Corporation are trading at $23.65. ” .
