About SBI Large & Midcap Fund Direct Growth

SBI Large & Midcap Fund is a mutual fund that invests in both large and mid-cap stocks. SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) has categorized companies by their market capitalization. On the basis of this, the first 100 companies by their market cap are called large-cap, while companies that rank 101st to 250th on the stock exchange are called mid-caps.

The fund follows NIFTY LargeMidcap 250 TRI as its benchmark index, which is comprised of large and midcap companies combined. Following this index helps SBI Large & Midcap funds measure their performance against a broader market of large and midcap companies.

The fund managers of SBI follow a blend of growth and value investing for Large & Midcap funds. Followed by a top-down to bottom-up style of investing. In this method, they first look for macro trends to identify trending sectors and then zero down on stocks by monitoring individual stock performance. The idea is to look for stocks that have fast growth potential and are also fairly valued.

Currently, the fund's portfolio comprises 16.8% small-cap stocks, 40.14% large-cap stocks, and 36.92% mid-cap stocks.

With an AUM of ₹29416.0 crores, SBI Large & Midcap Fund Direct Growth generated a return of 10.2% in 1 year, 16.1% in 3 years, 27.7% in 5 years. while its benchmark index (NIFTY 500) generated 4.8% in 1 year, 12.2% in 3 years, and 23.6% in 5 years.
