SBI Small Cap Fund, launched in 2009, focuses on small companies with the potential for high growth. While these companies carry risks due to their size, the fund aims to achieve long-term growth for its investors.

Investment Objective

Minimum Investment and Lock-in Period

The fund has a minimum investment requirement of ₹500 through a systematic investment plan. For now, SBI Mutual Fund is no longer accepting lump sum contributions. Furthermore, there is no set lock-in period for the SBI Small Cap Fund, giving investors the freedom to sell their holdings whenever they choose.

Taxation Investing in the SBI Small-cap Fund will attract capital gains tax. Any gains of up to Rs. 1 lakh are exempt from tax if the investment is held for over a year, and the exceeding gains will attract long-term capital gains tax of 10% without indexation. Short-term capital gains (investments held for less than a year) are taxed at a flat 15% rate.
