Read MoreFounded by Clessie Lyle Cummins, a local mechanic, and William Glanton in 1919, Cummins has its headquarters in Columbus, Indiana. This company deals in various Heavy Equipment automotive industry segments, including engines, filtration, fuel cell systems, power generation, hydrogen generation, turbochargers, and commercial vehicles. Cummins has over 600 company-owned distributor locations and 7,600 certified dealer locations, reaching well over 190 countries and territories. The company was one of the first manufacturers of diesel engines. The company's first engine was produced in April 1919, and now it is known as a global leader in offering low, medium, and heavy-duty commercial vehicles and off-highway equipment. In addition, it develops high horsepower engines for defence, marine, and railway applications. In 1967, Cummins acquired a distribution business, recognizing the importance of long-term business relationships. It has long-term supply relationships with PACCAR, Volvo Trucks, Ford, and Navistar, whether heavy-duty or mid-range. Additionally, Cummins built a global presence through strategic acquisitions. It purchased Holset Engineering Co., a company known for its turbochargers. The company acquired Onan, now Cummins Power Systems, for modern versions of traditional engine-driven generators used in marine, RV, and portable applications. In 1962, Cummins entered the Indian market through a joint venture with the Kirloskar Group. By 2013, it had more than 20 factories, 9000 employees, and over $1.5 billion in revenue across India. It has built a strong network of over 200 branch offices, 450 service touchpoints, and over 5000 expert trained engineers to handle all engine service requirements in India, Nepal, and Bhutan. The Cummins India team has won numerous industry awards, from BEML's Best Supplier award for 2015-2016 to the Golden Peacock Occupational Health and Safety award at the CII. The company plans to reduce the carbon impact of its diesel and natural gas platforms, focus on environmental sustainability, and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Currently Cummins Inc. has a market cap of $42.39 Billion. It has a P.E ratio of 21.81. The shares of Cummins Inc. are trading at $368.86. .
