Flex FoodsFFL, a part of the Flex Group with interests in packaging manufacturing, investment and other areas, is engaged in the processed fruits, vegetables and mushrooms business. During 1992 the company set up an Export Oriented unit to cultivate 1520 MT of button mushrooms and manufacture 200 MT of freeze dried vegetables and fruits in the Doon Valley. The products are used in industries like soups, sauces/dips, baby foods, breakfast cereals and ice creams as well as in the institutional and consumer markets. In May 91 Flex Foods signed an agreement with Agrisystems Engineering Consultants, Netherlands, to train and guide their employees for the mushroom cultivation project. The company also received help from Atlas Industries for mushroom/vegetable/fruit processing. As of March 31 2001, the company was planning to diversify into the growing areas of Information Technology and other related areas. Flex Foods also reached an understanding with Cincom Systems Inc. (CSI) in USA, who control 85% of the call centre market and 50% of the telecom customer care and billing market in India.
