Surya Knitwears was incorporated in February 1995 as a public limited company. It is promoted by Parmod K Jain, Rajiv Jain, Shashi Jain Sat Pal Jain, Vikas Sharma, and Rashmi Khanna and is planning to set up a project in Ludhiana, Punjab with the capacity of making 324000 knitted garments of cotton/acrylic/polyester per annum. To help finance the project, a public issue was issued in February 1996. Surya Knitwears is required to export 50% of its production and for this, it has tied up with Pailung Machinery Co. of Taiwan. All export production will be made using circular machines by this Taiwanese company. An agreement with the Taiwanese company is yet to be finalized.
