Doctor Sehat Sutardja, his wife Weili, and brother Pantas Sutardja launched Marvell in 1995 with the help of a small group of investors. Approximately $90 million was generated in the first public offering on June 27, 2000. Cavium, Inc. was acquired by Marvell on July 6, 2018, bringing the deal to a close. Announcing Syed Ali's appointment as a member of the Marvell Board of Directors on the same day as the firm's acquisition by Cavium, Inc.,Marvell hired Matt Murphy as their new President and Chief Executive Officer in July 2016. Marvell Corporation finalised the purchase of Inphi Corporation in April 2021. The purchase included a reorganisation of Marvell, which resulted in the united business having its headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware. .
