The objective of this company is to bring in improvements in the areas of HR and payroll by optimum usage of cloud-based software services. The company has released almost 34 software updates and 2020 R1 is the company's most recent product. The company was launched in 2006, though founded in 2005. In 2008, Workday moved its headquarters from Walnut Creek, California to Pleasanton, California. In the same year, the company signed a contract with Flextronics to provide human capital management services. Later, In 2012, the company launched its initial public offering. In 2014, the company acquired a startup named Identified, originally founded by Adeyemi Ajao, and named its Artificial Intelligence as Syman. The purpose behind the acquisition was to create a line of insight app products. In 2021, Chano Fernandez became the co-CEO of the company, and Dave Duffield became the chairman of the board.
